Shelby American Racing History

The Shelby American racing team, working with Ford and led by Carroll Shelby, achieved impressive results in the mid 1960’s with numerous factory sponsored cars and drivers. In 1965, the Cobras captured the World Manufacturer’s Championship. Team victories also included the famous Ford GT40 1-2-3 finish at Le Mans in 1966. 1966 marked the first of four consecutive wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Ford’s GT40.
